Providing Refuge.
Instilling Hope.
Our mission is to provide refuge to those in need in Butler County, Kansas.
Homelessness is not only found within large cities…
It affects small towns and rural America as well. Often times homelessness is not a choice, but a result of unfortunate circumstances that lead to a homeless life and a feeling of hopelessness.
Butler Homeless Initiative provides a refuge for those in need who have no other place to go. At BHI you will always find a warm, dry bed, hot food, and helpful people.
It does not matter how people end up at the Shelter. BHI helps homeless people by offering overnight refuge and meals. The guests also receive information on mental health treatment, resources on drug and alcohol addiction, housing and job searches.
The BHI vision is to end homelessness in Butler County. That begins with providing shelter for those in need and direction for those willing to make a change.
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
